  • Lynn Kay

    Lynn is Beat It’s lead facilitator. Having felt the benefits of community percussion workshops on a personal level, her mission is to make the therapeutic benefits of rhythm and sound accessible to everyone. Lynn has a background in classical music as well as wide experience of community music and group percussion. Lynn specialises in adapting her sessions to meet the needs of her participants.

  • Sophie Shuttlewood

    Sophie is a sound Relaxation session worker. With a working and voluntary background in community engagement, Sophie is delighted to be able to help deliver the benefits of Sound Relaxation. She has a love of meditation, and the natural environment, so enjoys being able to bring such aspects to the sessions.

  • Linda Booth

    Retired from a varied work life, Linda brings wide experience, flexibility and an undimmed enthusiasm to her directorship. Linda is active in her local community working at an Eco Shop and leading workshops and raising awareness about textile recycling. Along with admin and graph-making, her work for Beat It Percussion includes providing encouragement and an objective eye as Lynn Kay’s long-term friend and colleague.

  • Lynn Kay

    Our CEO Lynn set up Beat It in 2011. Seeking a change from Functional Skills teaching, Lynn began delivering percussion workshops in her local community in Herefordshire. Beat It Percussion became incorporated in 2013 and Lynn has since worked full time in the organisation to develop a range of innovative projects focused on supporting people’s well-being and promoting good mental health. In 2019, Lynn moved to Sandwell in the West Midlands where Beat It is established as a professional provider in the voluntary sector.

  • Martin Manuch

    Martin is a social and policy researcher with a background in political science and policy and programme evaluation. He is passionate about civic and community engagement. During his time working with Beat It Percussion, he supported our business development, proposal writing, and project management.
