It all started when…
Beat It Percussion CIC’s vision: we work with groups of people in the community to share music-making. Our primary focus is on people who are living with dementia and their carers who benefit from the practical, emotional and social support provided by our interventions.
Beat It has been operating for 6 years and is poised for growth. We are taking the venture further afield to a more areas of England and Wales which gives means more people will be able to experience living better with dementia as a result of this intervention.
Over the last 6 months Beat It has been establishing itself as a service provider in Sandwell, West Midlands. We have are running a pilot project to introduce our Drumming Together programme for people living with memory loss and early-onset dementia and are actively developing new connections and partnerships.
Exciting new developments include a new programme of training for practitioners and care-givers, which we are currently developing.
Look out for news of my on-going studies in Sound Therapy which will be used as the basis for our new programme working with people who have multiple and complex support needs. This programme, A Gentle Beat, will be launched in 2018.
